Description

The objective of this project is to to design and build a system and software that comprises of cameras, real time object tracking  software and intruder alert system. The cameras are installed in strategic locations to provide maximum security to residents, and seapods from intruders during the day and at night using night-vision enabled cameras. The cameras must be weather and water proof.


Why this is important

Security of residents and the seapod is a matter of of high concern for owners when they are away from their seapods. This includes petty theft, damage to property and even bodily harm to residents. A secure system is needed to protect residents, and their belongings in a seapod. The system is designed to detect intruders and trigger an alarm to scare them away and send alerts to the nearest security outpost, and if required, neighbors, to alert them.


What this project needs to move forward

  • Software developers (OpenCV/Python/JavaScript/AI/ML) - Software developers with experience in real time object tracking, AI and Python. Experience/exposure to TensorFlow, Yolo (You Only Look Once) is an added advantage. Contributors can select other alternate languages and technologies.
  • Electronics Majors - To design the circuitry for sensors and cameras.
