Introduction

Ocean Builders is an open organization with contributors from all over the world. Many of our projects are directly related with our main goal of building innovative floating homes. There are however hundreds of other related projects dealing with marine research, AI, smart home software and IoT, restoring our oceans' life, mechanical engineering, and much, much more.

Please check this page to understand better what we do at Ocean Builders and what are our goals.

Most of our projects are fully open source, this affects both software and non-software projects. You will find in this wiki, our file sharing service and our GitHub account; all the documentation ever created for those projects, together with its source code (in the case of software), their blueprints or any other files that are needed to build them yourself.

Here, at Ocean Builders we have two main areas of work in which you can contribute:

Research projects

We have tens of research projects that are either ongoing or looking for someone to start them up. These are projects related to our vision and goals but not directly integrated into the SeaPod and GreenPod tech ecosystems.

You can find a list of available projects to apply here: https://oceanbuilders.com/projects

In this wiki you can find initial research and documentation for all of them here: https://wiki.oceanbuilders.com/shelves/research-development-projects

You can join any project that is still pending of development and possibly any project that is already being developed (but in that case we would need to check with the team that is already working on it).

What if you don't like any of the projects or you don't have enough time to get fully involved in one of them? there are more ways to help: you can suggest changes in this wiki, add documentation, translate, etc.

Before moving forward as a contributor, please check these 2 guides:

SeaPod and GreenPod tech development and deployment

This our main area of work. We have several teams across different disciplines working on putting together all the technology necessary to build, deploy and manage SeaPods and GreenPods in a way that is cost-effective, scalable and easy to reproduce.
