Design a home automation system using OpenCV, AI and ML that can identify people and gestures to control lights, audio and emergency alerts.

 

Description

As part of home automation for smart homes, the objective of this project is to use AI and ML to identify people and gestures to control operations that are usually done manually, for example switching on or switching off a light.

 

Why this is Important

AI and ML technologies are fast evolving and replace the need for manual control of switches and monitoring appliances. Computer vision can identify users and their gestures to replace touch and press interactions with gestures. This simplifies everyday operations, this is important when it comes to situations like medical emergencies, armed robberies and other acts of crime.
